The New Life Pantry is a food service provided by a local church, New Life, for anyone in the community struggling with food insecurity. The pantry is a way for any family in need to show up and get food at no cost.
“Anyone is welcome to come that has food insecurity,” pantry leader, Karrie Ingram said. “The only thing you [need] to have is a driver’s license.”
This is an accessible way for families to receive the food they need. Many families struggle to put food on the table, and this initiative provides a crucial lifeline for those in need. Recognizing this common challenge, the pantry is always there to help out.
“We are serving 210-225 families each week,” Ingram said.
New Life does many things to keep people connected. Their goal is for everyone to feel welcome and happy, and they not only have the pantry to help families in need they also have a Christmas food drive.
“At church, I heard that there is a Christmas Drive for in-need families of any necessities and I immediately wanted to jump in and donate what I could,” New Life attendee Emma Murray (’27) said.
Christmas can be stressful for many families, but New Life Church is always ready to help. During their annual Christmas drive, they distribute blankets, laundry detergent, and other essential items to those in need. This generous effort shows the spirit of giving and support during the holiday season.
“I donated the necessities for people who need them and I’m very thankful that I got to participate and happy to see the smiles it brought families during Christmas time,” Murray said.
The church is dedicated to making a positive impact from the New Life Pantry, which provides free food to families in need, to the annual Christmas drive that distributes essential items to those in need. As Murray and many others have found, participating in these programs not only helps those in need but also brings joy and fulfillment to those who give. New Life Church strives to show the spirit of giving and community support making a difference in the lives of countless families while spreading the word of Jesus.
