Scholarship & College Opportunities
AGHS provides endless opportunities for seniors, as well as other grade groups interested in expanding their education post-graduation on campus, especially as the year starts to close. Most importantly, the FASFA, or CADAA, which is mandatory for all seniors with the ability to opt-out, the deadline to opt-out is March 2nd.
Cash prizes and scholarship money is being awarded to chosen who compete in the optimist club speaking competition in March, with the topic, “Discovering the Optimism within Me.” See Coach Chris Ryan for more information.
The American Legion Boys & Girls State will be held from Saturday, June 17, to June 23, 2023, at CSU Sacramento. This is a great opportunity for those who qualify to build their resume for college applications. For more information, speak to your counselor or visit https://boysstatecalifornia.org/. Applications are due March 3rd, 2023.
CalKIDS is a program geared towards low-income public school students to help build college funds. The state of California supplies $500 in an investment and development savings program, with up to $1,500 awarded in financial aid for those eligible. The Elk Teenager of the Month scholarship is also available to those who qualify, one senior male and one female are selected each month based on their academic and community leadership performance. Completed applications should be submitted to [email protected].
