Students wait up to an hour to have their blood drawn for a good cause. The blood taken from these students will be used to save hundreds of lives throughout California. The Friday Night Live Club hosts generally two of these events annually, one in the Fall and one in the spring.
Students above the age of sixteen and who are above 110 pounds are allowed to participate in the blood drive. In order to assure that students are healthy enough to participate, students’ hemoglobin is tested prior to blood donation.
Vitalant, the blood bank brings trained phlebotomist to draw blood from the anxiously awaiting volunteers. FNL also provides snacks to prepare the volunteers for their blood to be drawn.
The event provides students with community service and helps the greater community!
