It’s finally the time of year where everyone gets to cozy up in their blankets and holiday gear to embrace the Christmas spirit. Especially when it gets colder outside, what couldn’t be better than turning on your TV to watch the best, most fulfilling holiday film to bring more joy within the holidays. Survey results from our AVID program at AGHS 9-12, here are the results for the top 5 best Christmas movies this year.
- Home Alone
What a surprise Home Alone is ranked #1 best with 28 votes from our AVID students. The movie itself being family friendly and having the most chaotic and funny scenes, this movie classic still keeps viewers jumping for Christmas joy.
2. Elf
As shocking as it didn’t rank #1, AVID students, including one of their teachers, Gail Varvel made it a total of 16 votes. This movie is also family-friendly and shares one of the most funny and memorable moments that keep people watching it more and more every Christmas. I mean, who couldn’t get enough of Buddy the Elf roaming New York City?
3. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
With a close 15 votes, this movie got ranked #3 this year in AVID. The Dr. Seuss references and animation in this film make people feel close to their childhood as most of us have grown up with the books. Comedic Actress, Jim Carry has also proved to play an amazing role as the Grinch bringing more entertainment to the overall movie.
4. Nightmare Before Christmas
Christmas movie or not, this film had a result of 13 votes by our AVID students. A lot of them enjoy it since it has its own creative structure by incorporating two-holiday themes in one. The film also draws attention from its storytelling which flows in every scene.
5. Polar Express
Lastly from this survey, results came out that the Polar Express film made it in the top 5 by succeeding with 10 votes. This movie is a classic and has always been on people’s binge-watching list for the holiday season. The actors that play a role in it have the most impact on what makes this movie appeal to our audience and can bring family and friends together to enjoy a film so unique.
