Central Coast Barbell
Central Coast Barbell is located at 1081 Highland Way, Grover Beach, CA 93433. The parking is very nice. They have a small parking lot, but across the parking lot they have a dirt road where people can park. The gym has a nice view and you can see the fields. One of the pros is that the gym is a pretty decent size. The gym has big iron garage doors that can be opened at any time. As well as being able to connect to the speakers with your phone unless someone else is already using the speakers.
This gym is mostly used for power lifts.
“This gym gives you an old-school bodybuilding feeling,” Adam Rojas said.
Rojas finds many benefits in Central Coast Barbell.
“They have all the equipment you need. If you are like myself and power lift, this gym is also for you” Rojas said.
They only have 7 cardio machines but this gym is mostly based on lifting.
“You have a platform for dead lifting, a dead lift bar, and a power bar. You have a combo rack for squats and bench presses,” Rojas said. “The community is great and many people are willing to help you or spot you.”
Their costs are $15 for a day pass, a week pass is $30 a month, a year it’s $35 a month, for 3 months it’s $40, and for 6 months it’s $38.
“The owner, Danny, is very helpful and welcoming,” Rojas said. “He has multiple payment options that range from monthly to yearly. The price is more than worth the membership and having 24/7 access to the gym is beyond helpful.” Rojas said.
Fitness 19
Fitness 19 is a gym located at 908 Rancho Pkwy, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420. Their parking lot is pretty big and you can park at any place you’d like to. This gym is a decent size as well; they have a massaging area, and they have employees clean equipment very
often. They have half-and-half equipment and cardio.
They both are really good. The services that they offer are circuit training, personal training, tanning, weights, cardio, and kettle bells.
“Sam is professional,” Sarah K. Shaver said. “Always making improvements, and knows everyone’s name. Two squat machines, leg press, 3 bench presses, 3 shoulder presses, and that’s just the free weight section! Tons of cable machines and everything is always in working order and super clean.”
They have a 5-day free pass, premier elite is $34.99 monthly, premier $24.99 monthly, and basic $15 monthly. The gym hours are Monday- Friday. They are open 5 am to 10 pm and Saturday to Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm.
“All the members are very kind and not pompous,” K. Shaver said. “I like that the members range in age from 20’s to 90’s and all shapes and fitness levels. It’s the most inclusive gym I’ve ever joined.” Shaver said.
805 Fitness
805 Fitness is a gym located at 750 Farrell Rd A, Grover Beach, CA 93433. The parking lot is pretty big and in the back of the gym, they provide a punching bag and tires where you can take your anger out before you start yo
ur workout. It’s great if you like a smaller gym that has both lifting and cardio.
“This place is clean,” Anthony Trujillo said. “Simple, and has lots of equipment. Perfect for GAINS!!!!!”
They have both and their payments are that if you want to try it out it will be $10 for a day pass, for a basic individual is $40 a month, and for a student/ military is $30 monthly.
“Open 24/7 so I can get in whenever is best for my schedule,” Trujillo said.
Planet Fitness
Planet Fitness is a gym located at 1576 W Branch St, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420. Their parking lot is big, they have a mostly cardio base and this gym has a medium area to workout the upper and lower body.
The payments would be free for a guest pass, for classic it would be $10 a month, for a PF black card it would be $24 a month which comes with all the perks taking classes to work out, hydro massage, a
nd a tanning room. Whenever you need their help they are always there for you when they see that you are struggling, like not feeling good they try to come by and ask you if you’re okay or will try to do anything to help you in any way that the employees can do.
“Sarah at the front desk is always super friendly and helpful,” Sarhar Eshghi said. “Everyone who goes there has a good vibe. It is a clean facility and has all the equipment I need. Would recommend it!”
Kennedy Club Fitness
Kennedy Club Fitness is located at Pacific Coast Shopping Center, 1299 James Way, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420. Kennedy is pretty big, it has plenty of parking spaces, it has nice views when parked, and is surrounded by nature. They have a lot of equipment for cardio, lifting weights, this gym has a pool to train for aquatics and for people to use when they want to, have a recovery relaxation center, a room where there is peace and to relax your muscles. They have lots of exercise classes every week, personal training, and motivational group classes.
The payments for the recovery zone would be $39 monthly, and for month to month it would be $69 and comes with the full package, and for monthly, it would be $49. The hours that they are open are Monday- Friday 5:00 am-8:00 pm and Saturday- Sunday 8:00 am-3:00 pm.
“This is by far my favorite Kennedy club of all their locations,” Rebecca Harpain said. “The people here-staff and members are all so nice! The club is clean, the equipment is well maintained and teachers are great in the group exercise classes. Highly recommended.”
