Caillou: An infamous little boy with a bald head. He is the spitting image of the type of kid you don’t want: bratty, misbehaving, and a literal demon-child to his younger sister, Rosie.
The Canadian cartoon first aired on Teletoon in 1997, and ran for five seasons, with its final episode airing in 2011. Many parents hate the show because they think “Caillou” teaches their children bad manners, including using whining to get what they want without getting in trouble. The parents in “Caillou” never discipline him, so he never learns to change his behavior. He is always rude and at times physically violent to his baby sister and never seems to regret or reflect on his behavior.
The most amusing part of “Caillou” is the online reviews. On IMDB, a popular movie/TV show review site, “Caillou,” has an overall 3.8 out of 10 stars, which is quite low. The majority of reviews have a 1 out of 10-star rating, and the explanations that people give for why they rated the show so low are pretty hilarious.
Now that you have read through these one-of-a-kind reviews, you can decide if you want to let the next generation become little monsters by watching “Caillou.” Now, there are exceptions to every rule. I occasionally indulged in watching “Caillou” growing up, and I didn’t realize how bad it was until now. I turned out pretty normal, however, my parents might disagree. All the times that I acted out as a kid could have been because I watched “Caillou”! Who knows?
These reviews, however nonsensical, have a ring of truth to them. Not everyone hates “Caillou” as much as these reviewers do, but no one can deny that it does not teach children good lessons on how to act appropriately when socializing with other functioning human beings.
As a closing statement, let it be known that Caillou’s bald head is a result of the fire and brimstone within him burning away the measly amount of hair that he would have had.
