Summer Physician Mentoring Program hosted by local hospitals

Various local hospitals host the summer mentorship program

For six weeks during June and August, students ages 17 and older can participate in the Physician Mentoring Program at local hospitals including French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, and Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.

Physicians and staff from various professions such as cardiology, pharmacology, emergency medicine, and anesthesiology aim to mentor students interested in specific fields by watching daily hospital activities such as rounds or operations.

Applications are due by April 24, 5:00 p.m., and are submitted through a Google form.

Mia Hinds is a senior at AG High School, and is in her second and final year with the Eagle Times. She has a dog named Miko, who is a pitbull and husky mix. Her hobbies include baking and gardening, as well as anything to do with marine science or psychology. She also loves coffee, tea, and rainy days. Her goal is to absolutely dominate in The Eagle Times because she definitely has an extremely intimidating and ruthless presence that everyone is scared of.
