AGHS Shines Bright spirit week was a sparkling success, according to students and staff across campus.
“I liked the band T-shirt dress-up day because it sparked really interesting conversations,” sophomore class officer Willow Vogler (’26) said.
This dress-up day allowed students to display their favorite artists and music tastes. Thus, it encourages students to converse and bond over similarities and differences they might never have known, not to mention highlighting their dedication to their school.
“It makes school more interesting and less boring,” sophomore class officer Bibi Shah (’26) said. “I like being part of the group of people that dress up. It makes things more fun and less awkward.”
Our spirit weeks and events allow students to express themselves and their passions.
“[I like our Greek Week dress-up days because they are] easier for those who typically don’t dress up, [and] represent the classes and their spirit [as] well,” Vogler said.
This week’s overall favorite seems to be Villan Day, as Jayce Dawson (’25), Lucas Durham (’25), and many others would report.
This year’s Neon Out Homecoming Football Game was reportedly a huge success, with hundreds of students dressed up to support our varsity team as they defeated St. Joseph’s High School (21-7).
Even though this week’s dress-up days were such a hit, some students have creative ideas for the future. Some of these ideas include, “business casual,” “Meme Day,” “Purple Out to recognize Alzheimer’s disease,” and “Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher Day.”
AGHS’s incoming spirit weeks seem to have quite a bright future.
