Prom is approaching! AGHS is holding its annual prom with the theme “Masquerade Ball,” at the Fremont Theatre in SLO. Tickets are available for purchase at the student business office starting March 30th, for the cost of $50, with the price increasing to $60 on April 18th. You must have a prom activity contract signed and submitted at the time of purchase. 

 

Unfortunately AGHS’s Banda Dance which was scheduled for Friday, March 31st, has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. If you purchased tickets, see the student business office to be reimbursed. If you have any questions, reach out to Nick Talley. 

 

AGHS’s WASC accreditation has been completed! The report was submitted in December, with the visiting committee on campus during March. The visiting committee was very pleased with the opportunities available, as well as the all-around positive energy of students on campus. They recommended improvements in advisory and professional learning communities, which AGHS is looking forward to improving on. You can find the committee’s report here.

 

Leadership applications are coming to a close, if you are interested in joining AIM, ASB, or link crew classes, make sure you submit your applications by April 7th.

 

Counselor Jose Alvarez is holding his second student-staff sporting tournament of the year! The Intramural basketball tournament starts the first week of April and will be held during lunch on the blacktop. If you are interested, see Alvarez with a prepared and named team of 5. If you are unable to come up with five players, speak to Alvarez , and he will put you on a team.

Students are being given the opportunity to support Ukraine refugees through the letters of love foundation. Young Progressives Club is writing and sending letters to Ukraine refugees in Europe to spread love and support. You may use a template or use a piece of paper, turning it in to room 507 by April 18th, or at the Young Progressives Clubs’ meeting at lunch on April 18th.
