Monday was Lincoln’s Birthday – no school
Tuesday was Jersey Day where students could dress up in their favorite team’s gear. The lunchtime activity was Ultimate Frisbee where each class competed against another. The juniors (Apollo) got first, the sophomores (Aries) got second, the seniors (Aphrodite) got third, and the freshmen (Poseidon) got fourth.
Wednesday was Valentine’s Day and students dressed up in red and pink. The lunchtime activity was Therapy Dogs in the quad where students had the opportunity to interact with a poodle, border collie, and golden retriever.
Thursday was Dress Like a Teacher/Student Day where students dressed up as a teacher of their choosing. The lunchtime activity was hosted by the FNL Club and was a game called “Friends or Fake.” It was similar to classic trivia where students spin a wheel and answer questions based on certain categories.
Friday was Class Colors Day where students dressed up in their Greek Week colors. The Spread the Love Week Rally occurred after 2nd period and featured our Class Officers and their foreign location-themed carts, games like blindfolded musical chairs, dance company performances, and the student body scavenger hunt. Our new principal Mr. Grumbles was also sauced with marinara sauce after we raised over $1000 in our miracle minute for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs Association. During lunchtime, we had the Staff vs Staff basketball game which had packed stands as teachers competed.
Despite the rainy and cold winter, Spread the Love Week was a mid-year spirit boost. From the fun dress-up days and engaging lunchtime activities, to our action-packed Friday, students ultimately went into the weekend with smiles on their faces.
