Twisted Sodas is the newly opened soda shop located in Nipomo, CA. Its grand opening took place on August 29th, 2025. The business specializes in custom drinks and sodas with different flavor profiles, as well as a variety of snacks and foods.
Their mission is to create a space for youth to hang out, as there are few places like that in Nipomo, besides the big food chains scattered throughout the town.
Daniel Russell, the owner of Twisted Sodas, was eager for opening day and excited to create a spot for local teens.
“It’s not really about the money, but about giving back to the community. This town has done so much for me and my family and I just thought it would be a good idea to create a place for the kids other than the park,” Russell said.
After the grand opening, the community was excited about the idea of a soda shop where families and kids can hang out and have a place to go. The feedback from the community has been nothing but warm and welcoming since the beginning.
“They’ve all been really excited and we have a lot of people that come in all the time,” homeschooled employee Memphis Rodgers said.
The owners of Twisted Sodas created this place with the goal of contributing to their community and creating an atmosphere unlike any other in the town of Nipomo.
“We really just wanted to create a safe and fun place for people to go. Even though it was a long and hard process, I’m so proud of how far we have come as a business,” Russell said. “We are still growing and trying to make this place better and better but I think we have a strong foundation and can expand on this place later on.”
Twisted still has a long way to go and a lot to improve on, but they will always be a soda shop and have the same roots.
Their motto: “We transform ordinary drinks into extraordinary experiences with our unique combinations of premium syrups and creamy additions,” which resonates with the businesses ideals and hopes to bring the community together.
With the help of the community and Twisted’s employees, this local business has become a welcoming and successful shop which Russell intends to keep running for years to come and get people to create everlasting memories.
