Over AGHS’s Winter Break, the campus underwent two notable improvements: tree trimming in the quad and the installation of two
new basketball hoops on the blacktop.
AGHS Custodian Robert Meagher oversaw and helped to organize the improvements.
“ [The trees] were creating hazards for the buildings and clogging up the gutters,” Meagher said.
The trees in the quad needed to be trimmed as a precaution for possible problems with the surrounding buildings.
Tree trimming is also beneficial for the health of the trees and the overall appearance of the campus.
New basketball hoops replaced older hoops on the blacktop by the football field. The old hoops were between 20 and 25 years old.

“[The] older hoops had been here since I went to school here,” Meagher said.
