As of April 13, 2026 Arroyo Grande High School math department received new Smart Mix TVs. Every math teacher has received Smart Mix to help improve education within the math department. As of right now math teachers are the only teachers that have received this new update, but the school is working on expanding the technology into different departments.
Smart Mix TVs are used as broadcasting equipment, a whiteboard, incorporate many different helpful tools, and overall allow for a 21st century style of teaching. These TVs are very new and teachers need to learn the new features that are offered.
The math department held a meeting informing teachers on how to use all the features so that the transition from separate TV and whiteboard into the new Smart Mix TV’s will be alot smoother.
“It is going to take time to figure out what and how I’m going to apply this into the classroom setting, but I really want to take advantage of this new tool,” Math Teacher Aaron Sue said.
The various tools and tricks to learn have been a little overwhelming for some teachers, but AGHS math teacher Joseph Warrick really enjoys this new style of teaching.

“I love how interactive this can be for students and teachers, my favorite is that you can access everything you need on it [as opposed to] just a TV screen,” Warrick said.
Math teachers are very excited for this new style of equipment; it’s going to take time and practice to get used to. But once teachers and students learn the various tools, the hope is that Smart Mix TVs will improve the education within the math department.
