Some students only notice teachers and staff in classrooms or around campus; they fail to recognize that employees of AGHS lead busy lives after school hours. From hunting and fishing to trips to Cabo and triathlons, AGHS staff spend their free time enjoying the various hobbies they love most.

For many, time outside of school is spent in nature.
“I like hunting turkey and pigs,” AGHS Administrator Shane MacCuish said. “I also like camping.”
Principal Brad Grumbles enjoys similar activities.
“I hunt, fish, and go camping most of the time,” Grumbles said.
Other staff spend their time in nature taking hikes and relaxing from the daily stresses of life.
“I just had a baby, so I take care of my baby most. We do sometimes go on hikes after school, though,” English Teacher Ashley Kim said.
Staying in shape is important to many staff members at AGHS. Campus Administrator Joey Williams likes to exercise in what some may say is an extreme fashion.
“I do triathlons,” Williams said.
Others decide to exercise in less intense ways.
“I walk my dogs a lot, and I go to the gym often,” history teacher Kelli Peters said. “I have almost two hours of school work a night, though, so that takes up most of my time.”
Spending time with family and supporting their children are other activities that many of the staff enjoy.

“I have three children, so we go to lots of sporting events and soccer games,” AGHS Teacher Trevor Coville said.
Ag Mechanics Teacher Josh Rodriguez also enjoys attending sporting events with family.
“I like going to my sister’s younger kids’ football games,” Rodriguez said.
On top of his time spent with family, Rodriguez also likes to have fun.
“I love going to Cabo, [Mexico],” Rodriguez said.
Spending time in the sun and going on trips is very relaxing for teachers with strict schedules.
Instead of going out and doing exerting activities, some AGHS teachers, like Hailey McLain, enjoy staying home and doing quieter hobbies.
“I coach swimming, and then I will hang out with my cats,” McLain said. “I also play a lot of Minecraft.”
Being a teacher or administrator takes up a lot of time and patience, making it difficult for some staff members to be able to balance their work life and personal life. However, prioritizing their personal time ensures that students receive the best versions of their teachers and beloved staff members.
