Three friends opened Honey I’m Home, a restaurant in Pismo Beach on July 4, 2025. The restaurant features a variety of traditional diner food, comforting breakfast items, and a unique Basque dinner.
Locals and tourists alike appreciate the welcoming atmosphere at the restaurant. Eric Watt, a co-owner of the eatery, appreciates the strong customer base found in Pismo Beach.
“We bring good products, food that’s made from scratch, and just a bit better than everybody else’s. The locals are very supportive and we appreciate it,” Watt said.
Watt takes pride in all of the restaurant’s products being made from scratch and understands that it matters greatly to customers.
“We do a basque dinner where we bring out: beans, cabbage soup, salsa and bread, then ziti pasta, french fries, steak and pickled tongue– it’s cow tongue, cooked and marinated,” Watt said.
Their basque dinner remains popular in their Pismo Beach location, just as it did in their first restaurant.
Watt joined with two friends to make their dream come true in a new place.

“[My co-owners and I] went to school [together] back in 1985. We’re older and I got to move over here, it’s better than Bakersfield,” Watt said.
Watt and the other co-owners enjoy the coastal atmosphere, which was a main motivation for them to bring Honey I’m Home to Pismo Beach.
“You can just breathe over here, I love the air and the beach,” Watt said.
The enjoyable air and scenery provides Honey I’m Home with a comforting and relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant.
“It’s an all-new build and there’s a patio outside we’re trying to utilize for seating. It’s near the beach, [so customers] want to be outside,” Watt said.
While Honey I’m Home currently provides inside and outside seating facing the beach, they are also developing a larger outside area for customers to fully enjoy the coastal air and sun.
