Senior Backpacks

Students of AGHS, Kalyn Carmichael, Kendall Royal, Skyla Stiles, and Elyssa Sloan.

The “Senior backpack” trend is where seniors wear backpacks that vary from cartoons, childish movies, princesses, and superheroes. This trend started developing on TikTok in 2021. At AGHS, this trend started in 2023. Many AGHS students participate to bring a sense of childhood into their senior year. Seniors chose their fun, childish backpacks for many reasons, such as wanting to take part in the trend, bringing their childhood favorites back, and many more.

Danika Madson is a senior at Arroyo Grande High School. She intends to pursue a career in the pediatric medical field. She plays basketball and is currently playing in her 3rd year of Varsity girls basketball. Her favorite color is purple, and she likes Diet Coke, Chipotle, and Chick-fil-A. She loves to go to the beach and hang out with her friends outdoors. She is more than excited to be participating in the newspaper this year, and can’t wait to build a community within journalism.
