Luca’s Sicilian Deli and Wine is an up-and-coming restaurant located in the Arroyo Grande Village.
“We just received the Best New Restaurant of the Year award for 2026 in SLO County from the SLO Tribune; that was nice. ” Owner Genuino D’alo said.
Luca’s also won second place for Best New Lunch Spot as well as third place for Best New Italian Restaurant in the Central Coast.
The Awards higlight the effort and time Luca’s put into their product, but most importantly demonstrate how they are quickly building a reputation in the Central Coast.
The feeling of tireless effort resulting in local awards and being named one of the best new restaurants on the Central Coast is felt by the restaurant’s staff, too.
“[Winning various local awards] has felt amazing. It definitely felt like I had some sort of impact with all the work I’ve put into it here,” Server Dylan Youngblood said.
D’alo opened the deli to expand their horizons and share various family recipes.

“I didn’t formally go to school for culinary, I was happy enough with Michelin-mentioned. I was self-taught by my mother,” D’alo said. “[Agrodolce Osteria] was really successful back in the Bay Area… Everything here[at Luca’s] is homemade.”
The D’alo family restaurant business started nearly a century ago and now has eight restaurants mainly located in the Bay Area of northern California. Their most prominent restaurant in the Bay Area is Agrodolce Osteria and is owned by Genuino D’alo’s brother Angelo D’alo and his mother Rosa D’alo.
Genuino D’alo is proud to carry the family legacy in the Central Coast and hopes the restaurant will expand more over time.
“Hopefully next year we [can] be number one [best restaurant on the Central Coast], ” Genuino D’alo said.
