Driving through the Village as a non local during Christmas time might catch someone off guard. One might think to themself, “why are their chairs lining the sidewalk?”
Every year the Village in Arroyo Grande hosts a Christmas Parade with lots of fun activities, food, and unique floats. Locals place chairs on the sidewalk to claim their spots for a good view of all of the festive floats.
The Parade starts on the first Sunday of December each year at 5 p.m. starting at Branch Street next to City Hall, then moving down to Traffic Way.
Some locals attend this parade every year as tradition.
“I’ve been coming to this parade since my children were babies and will never stop coming,” AG Local Amy Kilmer said.
This parade is a long-standing tradition held by AG and marks the beginning of Christmas time for many friends and families. Here are some of the floats that took place in the AG Christmas Parade 2025:
