On Dec. 11, Shell Beach celebrated its annual Holiday Stroll. Community members leave their homes to walk up and down Shell Beach Rd. where businesses of all kinds set up booths with sweet and salty snacks for everyone to enjoy.
Bright, multicolored lights lined roofs and storefront windows.
Compass Real Estate invited people into their business with a table full of holiday-themed treats and Christmas decorations peaking through the window.
“It took a few days of planning,” employee at Compass Real Estate, Monique Garza, said.
Despite the benefit of publicity the businesses gain from setting up decorations and inviting people in, the event is held each year for one core purpose– community joy.
“Our main goal is to give back to the community,” Garza said. “Thats the whole point of this.”
People who were on the move and looking for a hearty dish could visit Zorro’s Cafe and Cantina where fresh rice, beans, and enchiladas were being distributed.
Andrews & Associates Real Estate set up live music and a dance floor and invited all residents to enjoy. Community members were welcomed to listen to upbeat music from local musicians.
The lively, annual celebration of the holiday season brought people together to feel joy right outside their homes.
