At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, AGHS began construction on beach volleyball courts and an indoor basketball gym. Recently, the construction team finished the beach volleyball courts, which will be open to the public by the end of the month.
AGHS Ag Department Teacher Lacee Holloway supports this construction of the volleyball courts; she believes that the courts will benefit students.
“I think that the new gym and beach volleyball courts are a great addition to our campus,” Holloway said.

One concern Holloway has is that the new sports facility will have to share parking with the high school’s back parking lot.
“They will have all of the disabled parking spots up by the gym, but everything else will be on the upper backlot and the backlot,” AGHS Area Administrator Shayne MacCuish said.
The new volleyball courts will be permanently open to the public, as long as AGHS is not hosting a beach volleyball tournament.
The basketball gym is still under construction and will take much longer, as the school has to get specific certification from the state to build a new structure on campus for student use.
