The Movie Club helps bring together students from across the school through a shared interest in cinema. The club is held every Wednesday during lunch in room 305, and the leader/ president is Albina Konoval, the vice president is McKenzie Dunn, and the club adviser is Amber Derbidge.
“I like [the club members], and you know, connections we can make with literature and storytelling. I think all storytelling is powerful, “Derbidge said.
The Movie club was created 1 year ago, and at its peak had 12-35 members. The club’s goal is to enjoy all kinds of movies and hang out with each other, welcoming anyone regardless of grade.

“I just really like movies. I watch a lot of them, and I just wanted to have a space to share my passion for movies with my friends,“ Konoval said.
In October, the club enjoyed watching Garfield’s Halloween Adventure, Garfield and Friends movie, and in December, enjoyed watching Twas the Night Before SpongeMas, a SpongeBob Christmas special. Currently, the club is not fully active and is planning a meeting on Wednesday, February 4th, to discuss the future of the club.
